QUESTIONS

EV charger questions

Still unsure? Call 03 8528 4655.

Is there a rebate for a home EV charger?

The DRIVEN rebate is only for car dealerships and EV repairers. For most homes the bigger saving is charging from your own solar instead of the grid. We’ll tell you if any other offer applies when we quote.

Who can get the DRIVEN rebate?

Licensed motor dealers (new or used), their service centres and EV repair workshops that meet AS 5732:2022, with an ABN. The business applies on business.gov.au before 5pm AEST on 30 April 2027, or earlier if funding runs out.

Do I need three-phase power?

No. Most homes charge well on a 7kW single-phase charger, which adds roughly 40 to 50 km of range per hour.

Can it charge only from solar?

Many smart chargers have a solar-only or solar-first mode. We’ll recommend one that works with your inverter and battery.
